Coastland strongly believes in giving back to the community. This is evidenced through Coastland's contributions to, and participation in several local organizations that reach out to those less fortunate, as well as reaching out to the youth of our community.
Organizations that Coastland sponsors, contributes to or are involved in include the Community Builder's Group (housing and food for the disadvantaged), Redwood Empire Food Bank, the Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Club, the Council on Aging, several of the local schools and other outreach organizations.
In keeping with our company’s belief in reaching out into the community to help those less fortunate, Coastland has provided “hands-on” support for the Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts through multiple outreach trips to Mississippi. The overall mission of these trips is to touch as many lives as possible through the rebuilding of homes in Biloxi, Mississippi. Targeted homes belong to those families incapable of restoring their own homes. Families include the disabled, the elderly and single mothers. Assignments included re-roofing, removing contaminated/moldy material and completely rebuilding interiors of homes (including electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, carpentry, insulation, installation of cabinets and other related fixtures).
Coastland also believes in helping the youth of our community. In cooperation with several schools in the area we have been able to allow both high school and college students to participate in shadowing and/or intern programs within our company.
The management of our company strongly believes it is more of a blessing to give than it is to receive. Accordingly, we encourage our employees whenever possible to get involved in giving of their time and resources to those in our community that are less fortunate.
