Project Description

As City Engineers for the City of Willows, Coastland | DCCM assisted the City in the process of securing a grant from the Economic Development Agency (EDA) for construction of infrastructure associated with the South Willows Commercial and Industrial Center. The project is located on S. Tehama Street between County Road 53 and County Road 57. The project costs were $5.6 million with the City receiving $3.46 million from the EDA, $800,000 from a CDBG grant and matching the remainder through local funds.

The project included approximately 2,600 linear feet of off-site 12” water line, along with valves and other appurtenances, 540 linear feet of on-site 12” water line, approximately 1,370 feet of 15” sewer line, with manholes and other appurtenances, approximately 600 feet of new road, including paving, curb, gutter, striping and other appurtenances, road widening of S. Tehama Street, including sidewalk and a bus pad, addition of two detention ponds and a storm drain pump station, 2,300 linear feet of storm drain piping, with manholes and inlets, a 70-foot precast bridge, including approach slabs, piers, driven piles and other appurtenances, joint trench utilities and streetlights.

Construction of the project was completed in September 2020.
