Project Description

Coastland | DCCM provided design services for two bike lane improvement projects along Old Highway 53 in Clearlake. The Austin Park and Bike Lane Improvements project was funded through the Transportation Enhancement (TE) program. The project involved various safety improvements including road widening and associated curb, gutter, sidewalk and drainage improvements near Burns Valley Elementary School. Improvements also included the widening of the south side of Austin Road to allow for a class II bike lane.

The Old Highway 53 Bike Lane project was funded through the federally legislated Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program and consists of a 4-foot-wide Class II bike lane on both sides of Old Highway 53. This project was an extension of the Austin Park project.
